Skim through Sue's dissertation...it's in a PDF format.  (Most interesting sections:  Forward, Chapter 5 (more than you've ever wanted to know about Metaphors); Chapters 6 through the end.  The conclusion chapter will give you a general summary.  Unless you're really into it, you can skip chapters 2-4 which give the theoretical base and contains a lot more jargon and stuff than you may want).

 Some articles you may enjoy:

Finishing Well:  A Dyeing Art  (This is an article Sue wrote for the Christian Management Association magazine)

Decision making and God's perspective (This is an article on Asian Access' website that Sue wrote to help guide those interested in missions after Urbana)

 Some of our favorite websites:

Some of the coolest people we know are fellow missionaries in (or for the sake of) Japan!  check out these websites:

Jeff and Nozomi Johnston with Asian Access are in L.A. now but praying about an upcoming move to Japan- we can't wait for Zack and Ellie to play with Owen.  Check them out at:  http://home.earthlink.net/~jeffnzomi

Peter and Wendi Thomson are our ministry partners in Sanda.  You'll love their website!  http://www.thomsontimes.com

Andy and Hitomi Gray, living in Higashi Kurume, Japan and serving with Church Resource Ministries.  Check them and their darling 3 daughters out at:  www.globalcompassion.com/grays.htm

Chris and Michael Mason, living in Osaka, Japan, and serving with JEMS...if you look at their website, you may see their son Luke wearing some clothes he's since passed on to Owen: http://www.sakai.zaq.ne.jp/cmmason

Jan and Chuck Burwell, serving in Yamaguchi, Japan with Christar Ministries.  I first met them before they had come to Japan, and knew zero Japanese.  Now they are seeing God do marvelous things through the churches they have planted and Chuck's leadership with their mission:   http://www.burwellfamily.com

Have you seen the AsianAccess website?  There's information on how you can be part of the team here in Japan, and some fun culture quizzes throughout ...www.asianaccess.org

Here's some other organizations that we're sort of partial towards:

Ai no Kesshin (Loving Decisions is the English name):  This is the adoption agency in Japan we used to adopt Owen.  Their goal is to place children who need good homes in Christian families in Japan.  http://www.ywamjapan.org/Mercy.htm

Taylor University (Sue's alma mater):  www.taylor.edu

Fuller Theological Seminary (this is where we met!)  www.fuller.edu
