 Here's some pictures from our 5-day get-away in August.  We spent a few days in UraBandai, a mountain area south of us, with our friend Keiko. Then we went east to the beach, and stayed with our friends the Watanabes.  It was Owen's first real experience with ocean water.

We rigged up an old fashioned vegetable basket that women wear for gathering mountains vegetables, and made a fun carrying basket for Owen.

I liked this picture, because it reminds me of John 15... and how closely we need to be abiding in Christ....You couldn't fit anything between the vine and the branch if you wanted to.

Mrs. Watanabe, who runs a Japanese inn.  She has a whole room full of kimonos, since she needs to wear them daily.
